We are pleased to announce that SHUNT -
THE OFFICIAL RECOIL WEBSITE, is now on-line (albeit a little
incomplete). After 4 months of compilation, we are at last able
to present the only OFFICIAL site dedicated to Alan Wilder and
his Recoil project.
REPORT will bring
you up-to-date news bulletins and monthly editorials. We
will keep you informed on the progress of the next Recoil
album and also provide accurate information on the
upcoming Depeche Mode Tour and Greatest Hits package.
THE A-FILES is your
"access all areas" pass to the private and
personal world of Alan Wilder. A full historical
biography, complete with never-before-seen press shots,
spanning his 23 year music career. There is a detailed
section on all the Recoil collaborators and a photography
segment which features rare and exclusive pictures. There
is also the ultimate in Recoil trivia - a list of
"10 Things Every Fan Should Know About Alan
Wilder".
MEDIA, for the more
serious-minded, will give an insight into album marketing
and promotion, including artwork design, industry
reports, interviews, articles and reviews.
TECHNICAL is your
special invitation to Alan's 'Thin Line', studio . For
all you trainspotters, look out for a feature on the
extensive upgrades being made to the equipment and read
some of his comments on technology in music today. There
will also be a complete Recoil discography, quick time
video and audio facilities and a full rundown of lyrics
from 'Bloodline' and 'Unsound Methods'.
FORUM has been
designed to give fans the ultimate interactive platform
from which to communicate their opinions on all aspects
of Recoil. Unique to Shunt, it will not only include a
visitors comments section (where anything and everything
can be posted, without censorship) but also a
Œdirect to Alan1 question and answer service, where
he will reply personally to your queries on a regular
basis. In addition, there will be a fans' photo gallery,
a monthly review of Shunt - the mailing list (see below)
plus various competitions with prizes.
CONNECTIONS, the
final section of Shunt, highlights links to various other
on-line resources of interest, including related official
and unofficial sites. There is also a link to the Mute
Bank Mail Order service where you can find details of all
Recoil releases. Our commitment is to maintain a website
that offers both accurate and entertaining information,
presented in a clear, concise and above all, intelligent
way. It will be REGULARLY updated and will address as
many of your comments and suggestions as possible. (We
would also be very happy if those of you supporting your
own websites would consider including a link from your
site to the Recoil site.)
